Renee Pedersen + James Alderman

Paynesville  / February 2018

kindred spirit

Dear Renee

I remember clearly the first day we met. I remember thinking to myself how beautiful you looked, which I’m sure you could tell from the smile on my face. I couldn’t wait to get to know you and we spent hours together just talking, laughing and having fun.

Who would have known that a simple ‘swipe to the right’ would lead to so many wonderful memories together and falling in love on our little island paradise? Countless nights have been spent out on those jetties, holding you in my arms, watching the sunset. You will always have my heart and I can’t wait to adventure through life as your husband. I love you, James.

Our Story

James and I met on the good old App, ‘Tinder’ in 2014. He lived in the city and I was in Traralgon and James was kind enough to drive to meet me for lunch. As soon as we met, something seemed to ‘click’ and we instantly connected. James arrived on the Friday but didn't leave until the Sunday!

Our relationship moved relatively quickly, and for our six- month anniversary we booked our first overseas trip to New Zealand. It was jam-packed full of adventure and we had the time of our lives.

James proposed to me at the beautiful Mt Cannibal lookout in West Gippsland. That morning he was a bundle of nerves and,

without knowing what was about to happen, I kept asking him what was wrong. He popped the question and naturally I said, ‘yes’. However, our time together as a newly engaged couple was short-lived as James had to move interstate for work. I hated being away from him for such long periods, so I packed my bags and moved to Darwin where I had found work too.

We loved the Gippsland area so much though, so we got married on Raymond Island in the Gippsland Lakes. It is situated in beautiful, natural surrounds, which set the backdrop for our wedding: we wanted simple elegance and for the scenery to speak for itself.

Rave Review

One vendor who really made a huge impact on us was Hannah from Hannah Gilbert Photography. She was a delight to work with and enhanced our special day with stunning photos
that will provide life-long memories. Hannah understood our ‘wedding dream’ and captured it perfectly.

Getting Hitched - Our One Piece of Advice

Delegation is the key! Learn to accept and ask for help. No one will notice (or care) if things go slightly amiss. Just enjoy the ride, because the day rolls around so quickly and is over in a flash.
